WEST ALLIS, Wis. –  It was a hot night of bidding at the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction on Wednesday, Aug. 8 at the 2018 Wisconsin State Fair.

Wisconsin State Fair officials and members of the Blue Ribbon Sale of Champions Foundation announced that evening raised a total of $316,800.

Bucky Badger and the Echoes of Camp Randall Marching Band once again kicked things off at the Case IH Coliseum and set the tone for an exciting night. Bidding commenced with Governor Walker auctioning off the Grand Champion Steer (Crossbred) exhibited by Reid Runkel of Burlington, Wis. in Racine County. The 1,325-pound steer sold for $47,500 with the winning bid from Meijer.

The auction recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of Wisconsin’s youth exhibitors. Below is a list of winning bids:

An iconic Milwaukee Brewers “Triumphant Trio” framed print signed by Yount, Gantner and Molitor, featuring the cover of the 1992 Brewers Yearbook, complete with letter of authenticity went to American Foods Group for $1,000

A Green Bay Packers Super Bowl I tribute print, consisting of an original Super Bowl program and signatures from Bart Starr and Jerry Kramer went to Jim and Mary Quade of Milton, Wis. for $5,000

A black & white framed print of the Mud Bowl, when the Green Bay Packers defeated the Cleveland Browns 23-12 on January 2, 1966, signed by Paul Hornung, Fuzzy Thurston and all-time great Jerry Kramer, went to Houdini’s Escape for $2,000

A one-of-a-king Monopoly board game, framed and matted, consisting of over 25 professional golfers signatures went to Houdini’s Escape for $1,100

The original, winning artwork by Laura Jackson of Muskego, Wis. for the 2018 Commemorative Wisconsin State Fairtastic Poster Competition went to Interstate Parking for $2,500
