Police seek SUV driver in crash with tractor

A woman is dead and Clark County Sheriff's Department deputies are looking for a man after a fatal crash involving a tractor and an SUV Friday.

HIXON - A warrant has been issued for the driver of an SUV that collided with a farm tractor on Oct. 13, causing a crash that led to his passenger's death.

The crash happened about 40 miles northwest of Marshfield as the tractor driver, Mark H. Frost, 56, of rural Withee, was pulling a manure spreader on Bridge Road and tried to turn onto Clark Avenue in Hixon, according to the Clark County Sheriff's Department.

SUV driver Jacob K. Person, 31, tried to pass the tractor from behind, hit the driver's side tractor tire and rolled several times, throwing the SUV's passenger, 31-year-old Tasha A. Ley, according to the sheriff's department.

An SUV rolled several times after hitting a tractor Friday in the Clark County town of Hixon. The female passenger was ejected and died from her injuries.

Ley and Person were taken to Marshfield Medical Center, where doctors pronounced Ley dead. Both are from the Stanley area.

Person was released from the hospital and Clark County deputies are looking for him on suspected charges of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, according to the sheriff's department. No charges had been filed Monday afternoon.
