MARSHFIELD - "You have to have a love for the bug."
Those are Doug Hauke's words of advice for anyone who wants to get into beekeeping. The CEO of the Marshfield-based Hauke Honey Corporation has 3,000 colonies of bees in Wisconsin; the firm sells tens of thousands of pounds of honey to Miller Brewing Company and other brewers.
In this USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin video, Hauke speaks about beekeeping on an industrial scale and why his job has him traveling between Wisconsin, California and east Texas for six months of the year.
