Farm Fresh Atlas plans 14th edition

Wisconsin State Farmer

Little Chute — The Farm Fresh Atlas for Eastern Wisconsin is taking applications from farms and businesses for ads and calendar postings in its 2017 edition, which will be its 14th.

Marketing and communications manager Laura Grunwald is hoping to improve on the atlas's 2016 listing of about 50 family or cooperatively owned “sustainable farms” and add to the 25 locally businesses which sell Wisconsin grown or made products.

The atlas also publishes free listings for certified public use kitchens, farmer's markets, community gardens and local foods events. For 2016, it had 25,000 copies available for distribution to market and business patrons.

Grunwald pointed out that, in addition to free online listings, the atlas will be offering new opportunities for online advertising and will add social media to its outreach. It will have a Facebook page and will be included on the statewide Farm Fresh Atlas website. The atlas's own website is farmfresheastwi.org.

Early bird registration rates are available until Monday, Jan. 9. The regular registration window will close Monday, Jan. 16.

Registration is available on the website. Checks are payable to Eastern Wisconsin Sustainable Farmers Network, which sponsors the annual atlas project.
