Dairy producers need to acquire many different skills to properly manage their farms. Northeastern Wisconsin's Mid & Early Career Dairy Producer & Professionals' Group serves dairy producers by helping them learn some of these skills from each other in on-farm or other local settings.

The group is facilitated by UW-Extension agriculture agents of Shawano, Marinette, and Oconto counties, with topics and discussion driven by members and attendees. The next meeting will begin at 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 13th at Finger Family Farms located in County Line (8831 Old 41 Road), just east of Hwy. 41.

There will be two key features to the July 13th event, a tour of the Finger Farm, and a hands-on crop scouting mini-workshop. Phil and Laura Finger will lead the farm tour and discussion, while UW-Extension crops/soils agents Jamie Patton and Scott Reuss will be leading the pest scouting portion of the evening.

Refreshments will be provided, and there is no cost to attend. If you have any questions about this event, contact Sarah Mills-Lloyd at 920-834-6845 or Jamie Patton at 715-526-6136, or e-mail to
