The Manitowoc County Forage Council, Manitowoc County UW-Extension and Midwest Forage Association are sponsoring a field day on July 14 where attendees can tour the Brunmeier Dairy Farm, view their calf barn and witness their auto feeder.

Visitors will also learn about conventional and low lignin alfalfa. In the event of inclement weather, the Field Day will be held on July 15. Contact Scott Gunderson at 920-683-4175 if you are unsure the event will be held on July 14 due to inclement weather.

The Field Day will be hosted by Brunmeier Dairy Farm, located at 8110 S. Union Road, Newton.

Events for the day include presentations 'What's New with Low Lignin Alfalfa' by Dr. David Combs, UW-Madison Department of Dairy Science, 'Seed Company Update on Low Lignin Alfalfa' by Chad Staudinger, Dairyland Seed Forage Product Manager, Country Visions Cooperative Agronomists, a tour of the Brunmeier Farm, field trip to view a 35-acre field of conventional and low lignin alfalfa, annual meeting and lunch, courtesy of Manitowoc County Forage Council, Country Visions Coop, Denmark State Bank, Croplan, and InDepth Agronomy.

There is no registration fee for this event which is sponsored by the Manitowoc County Forage Council, Manitowoc County UW-Extension, and the Midwest Forage Association.
