Rural Life Days set in early April

A senior Catholic priest who exhibits chickens and flowers at the Door County Fair every summer will be the guest speaker at the Green Bay diocese's annual observance of Rural Life Days on April 5 and 7.

Father Tony Birdsall, who was the director of the diocese's rural life program for 10 years, will give a presentation titled 'Blessings and Values of Rural Life: Revealing the Hidden Treasures of the Lord' following the luncheon at both events.

The observance on Tuesday, April 5, will be at the Isidore the Farmer parish, 18424 Tisch Mills Road in far northern Manitowoc County. The Thursday, April 7, observance will be at St. Mary parish, 207 W. Tielky St. in Bear Creek in northern Outagamie County.

Both events will start at 10:30 am with a Mass. Green Bay diocese auxiliary bishop Robert Morneau will preside at Tisch Mills, while the diocese's bishop David Ricken will preside at Bear Creek. A blessing of animals and machinery brought by host parish members will follow the Mass.
