Committee seeks recipient for dairy award

Badgerland Financial recently awarded 22, $1,000 scholarships to graduating high school seniors who will be pursuing their interest and studies at a short course, technical/trade school or university this fall.


NEOSHO- The John Lepple Memorial Award committee is seeking applicants for the $500 cash award to be presented to a young person with an interest in pursuing a career in dairy farming.

Lepple was an A.I. service technician with East Central/Select Sires of Waupun until his death in an automobile accident in 2001.

This is a $500 cash award presented to someone actively engaged in agriculture or pursuing a career in dairy farming who exhibits strong personal integrity as well as a willingness to help others and/or is a victim of a personal hardship and could use assistance.

Scholarships are for students pursuing a degree in agriculture in a 4-year college or at technical school. Applicants must be a resident of Dodge County. 

Awards to farmers with special financial needs must be at least 17 years of age and be nominated or recommended by at least one unrelated adult party.

A committee will review all nominations and select a recipient.  All information received will remain confidential.  The recipient will be contacted no later than August 1 with the award presented during the Dodge County Fair.
