Roundtable Day Offered With Four Ag Engineers

The Stockmanship and Stewardship program is expanding and enhancing its scope of events beyond the successful local events held in the past.

PORT WASHINGTON – A roundtable format day with four University of Wisconsin Extension Service biological systems engineers is being offered on Wednesday, April 5 in the auditorium room 6 at the Ozaukee County administration center, 121 W. Main St., Port Washington.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m, attendees can consult with Dave Kammel on farmstead site planning, facility remodeling, and barn designs for calves, heifers, and cows; Becky Larson on the handling, processing, and transporting of manure and agricultural byproducts; Brian Luck on machinery operations and precision agricultural practices; and Doug Reinemann on milking machines and management, robotic milking, and farm energy sources.

Attendance is limited to 12 farms with two persons each. There is no cost to attend but pre-registration is being required by the sponsoring Extension Service offices in Washington and Ozaukee counties.
