'SCOHOL': Contractor misspelled 'school' on Florida road, city confirms
A road crew misspelled the word "school" in large letters on a Florida road, the city of Doral confirmed Thursday.
The contractor spelled the word "SCOHOL" – incorrectly placing the "H" between the two "O"s, according to a photo published by Miami TV station WPLG. The city said the mistake, which occurred in school zone striping, would be quickly fixed.
"Thank you to all who brought this very important matter to our attention," the city said in a tweet.
WPLG reports a driver spotted the error Thursday on Northwest 54th Street in Doral, located about 10 miles northwest of downtown Miami. Crews have since fixed the error, the station reports.
It's the second time in a month that a Florida misspelling has made headlines.
