Michigan reports 669 new coronavirus cases, 16 deaths Tuesday

The Michigan health department has reported an additional 669 coronavirus cases Tuesday, increasing the statewide total to 79,176.
In addition, the state reported 16 new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the statewide death toll to 6,170. The health department stated that 11 of the deaths were the result of a backlog.
Michigan administered 24,724 diagnostic tests Monday, with 1,202 returning with positive results. Monday's positivity rate was 4.86%.
As of Friday, 57,502 coronavirus patients have recovered in Michigan, which is calculated 30 days after the onset of illness.
The state has also reported 8,782 probable coronavirus cases and 251 probable deaths, bringing the statewide total to 87,958 cases and 6,421 deaths.
