The press has been back in operation for several days at the Reporter-News. but it rolled "for real" on Wednesday evening.

For the first time since Nov. 14, a newspaper was printed in Abilene.

Previously, comics and smaller, non-deadline projects had been printed here. Power is being provided by generators.

Copies of the San Angelo Standard-Times, which has been published here for several years, came off the press just after 6 p.m.

It's the first full newspaper printed here since the day before a Nov. 15 fire at the Reporter-News forced publication to move north to our sister newspaper in Wichita Falls.

Thursday's Reporter-News still was to be printed there.

The plan is make sure all goes well for the Standard-Times before adding the Reporter-News, perhaps as soon as next week.
