Remains found in rural Adams County identified as Dane County woman missing since May
FRIENDSHIP - Investigators identified the human remains found by a hunter last week in rural Adams County as a Dane County woman missing since May.
Annastasia N. Evans, 24, from the town of Dunn, was last seen May 4 in Wisconsin Dells. Investigators thought she could be in a number of central Wisconsin counties north of Dane County, including Adams County, and had been searching remote areas in October, according to news reports.
The hunter found the remains in a rural and wooded area of the county and contacted the Adams County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release from the Wisconsin Department of Justice's Division of Criminal Investigation.
The investigation is ongoing, authorities said. They did not release any further information.
