SHEBOYGAN FALLS - Sheboygan Falls' Junior's Eats food truck is getting a permanent home on Broadway Street.

"Everybody was asking when I'm gonna open [a restaurant], so I'm like all right maybe I should start thinking about that," said Ramiro Navejar, owner and chef at Junior's Eats.

The new location in Sheboygan Falls will serve similar items to what can be purchased from the truck, but the menu will be a bit more robust, according to Navejar. Favorites like the Philly and Cuban paninis will be on the new menu, but he said he is still finalizing the other items.

While the new kitchen will be small, it will still provide more space than the truck does. Navejar said this will be a better place for him to do prep work for the truck, which will continue to operate in the summers.

He also hopes to offer catering services now that he has this kitchen. Cold sandwiches, wraps and salads are one option for catering, but he also plans to offer options like a taco bar or a mac and cheese bar.

Navejar, who grew up in Sheboygan, bought the truck back in 2018 when the previous owner decided to sell. It took him some work to get things up and running again, but he saw success after half a summer of operations in 2018 and a full season in 2019.

"I wasn't expecting it to go as good as it did," Navejar said.

Junior's Eats, seen here Nov. 12, 2019, is scheduled to open sometime in December 2019 in Sheboygan Falls.

At 14, Navejar started working at his aunt's restaurant in Milwaukee and has been in the kitchen ever since. He said he bounced around to a few other places, including eight years at the Bread & Bean across the street from where he is opening his kitchen.

"I just like to cook," Navejar said. "I like feeding people and giving them good food."

Located at 608 Broadway St. in Sheboygan Falls, Junior's Eats plans to open its doors before the end of the year.
