Sauk County man dead after silage packing accident

A 72-year-old man packing silage on an elevated feed bunk when part of the bunk wall collapsed, causing the tractor to roll over and crush him to death.

TOWN OF HONEY CREEK – A Sauk County man is dead after being crushed under the tractor he was using to pack silage.

Rescue workers were called to the scene around 4 p.m. on Oct. 8 for the report of a man trapped under a farm tractor on Jacoby Road in the town of Honey Creek.

According to the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office, a Prairie du Sac man was operating a tractor on a feed bunk when the bunk wall collapsed, causing the tractor to roll over on its side, crushing the 72-year-old operator underneath.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Sauk County Coroner’s Office. The name of the victim is being withheld at this time.
