California farm claims top spots in International Jersey Show

Vierra Dairy Farms of Hilmar, Calif. exhibited both the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at the International Jersey Show, October 2. Showdown Justine, the first-place Four-Year-Old Cow, followed Spritz as Reserve Grand Champion and Reserve Senior Champion.

MADISON, WIS. – Vierra Dairy Farms of Hilmar, Calif. exhibited both the Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion at the International Jersey Show, October 2. Showdown Justine, the first-place Four-Year-Old Cow, followed Spritz as Reserve Grand Champion and Reserve Senior Champion.

Intermediate Champion and Reserve Intermediate Champion were LLR Tequila Excitement and Despresverts Joel Glamour-ET, respectively. Excitement, the winning Senior Two-Year-Old Cow, was exhibited by Glamourview-Iager/Walton and Eaton Holsteins of Marietta, N.Y. Glamour was shown by Joshua Arp from Norwalk, Ohio.

Schulte Bros Teq Glory-ET was named Junior Champion and topped the Summer Yearling Heifer Class. Glory was exhibited by Budjon Farms and Peter Vail of Lomira, Wis. Reserve Junior Champion was Campbell TB Gunman Elsa, the winning Fall Heifer Calf shown by Lookout and Verna and Randy Peterson from Canton de Hatley, Québec, Canada.

Arethusa Farm, of Litchfield, Conn., was named Premier Breeder, while Premier Exhibitor honors went to Vierra Dairy Farms, Hilmar, Calif. Premier Sire was Tower Vue Prime Tequila-ET. In the heifer show, Meadow Ridge Jerseys of Cumberland, Wis. was named both Premier Breeder and Exhibitor. J-Kay Tequila Fizz was the Premier Sire of the Heifer Show.
