UW-Extension Taylor County is hosting an on-farm meeting from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Aug. 28 at N726 Robin Ave, Stetsonville for those wanting information about adding beef to their dairy operation or switching to beef from dairy. This workshop will also be useful for those new to, or contemplating, raising beef.

The So You Want to Raise Beef? Workshop will discuss marketing, breeding strategies, facilities and nutrition for cow/calf herds, and feeding/finishing dairy beef or dairy crossbred beef. Presenters include those from partnering agencies, UW-Extension, UW-Madison, Heartland Cooperative and Stratford Equity Cooperative.

This workshop and farm tour includes a picnic lunch. The tour highlights a dairy farm’s conversion from raising dairy to raising beef.

Cost to attend is $10 per person, due by Aug. 21 to UW-Extension Taylor County. Send payment with name(s), addresses and phone number to 925 Donald St. Room 103, Medford, WI 54451. Late registration costs $15 per person. Make checks payable to “UW-Extension”.
