Blaska recognized by LSC

Landmark Services Cooperative (LSC) Chairman of the Board John Blaska was recently recognized for his success in completing the three-year Advanced Governance Series (AGS) training through Farm Credit Counseling Services (FCCS).

Over the course of the three-year program, Blaska joined directors from agricultural cooperatives across the nation as part of an AGS membership group. These participants take part in six core modules, each focusing on an area essential to excellence in governance. The modules provide a solid foundation for leadership decision-making.

Upon completion of this series Blaska was recognized for his achievements at the April Landmark Services Cooperative Board of Directors meeting.

Nohl awarded Ag in the Classroom grant

Wisconsin Farm Bureau’s Ag in the Classroom program has awarded Nicole Nohl with a $500 volunteer grant to attend the National Ag in the Classroom Conference. More than 400 teachers, volunteers and agricultural literacy staff are expected to attend.

Nohl is an independent contractor for Brown County Dairy Promotions where she helps organize classroom visits to the greater Green Bay area and works on various dairy-related activities for the county. She also helped organize the 2017 Alice in Dairyland finals hosted by Brown County.

Farm WI Discovery Center hires 3

The Board of Directors of the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center (FWDC) has announced the selection of Lauren Rose Hofland will serve as the Executive Director for the Farm Wisconsin Discovery Center. She will be joined by Angel Johanek as the Director of Marketing and Development and Michelle Shambeau as the Floor Manager and Volunteer Coordinator.

Hofland was hired as the Interim Executive Director of FWDC in late 2017 and accepted her position of Executive Director earlier this month. Hofland has 19 years of nonprofit and government experience, serving as Executive Director of Manitowoc County Asset Building Community, interim Director of Manitowoc County United Way and Executive Director at the Cedarburg Cultural Center. She was also the Assistant Manitowoc County Executive under Dan Fischer and Bob Ziegelbauer.

Johanek began her position on May 2 and comes to FWDC from her most recent position as Business Engagement Coordinator at The Chamber of Manitowoc County in Manitowoc.

Shambeau will begin her position on June 18. Shambeau spent the last 6 years at Bay Tek Games in Pulaski as a Human Resource Generalist. She volunteered for two years on the planning team for the 2017 Farm Technology Days.

Stadt honored as TRALA Driver of the Year

Landmark Services Cooperative (LSC) is proud to announce that David Stadt was nominated and awarded the Truck Renting and Leasing Association’s (TRALA) 2018 Driver of the Year Award in recognition of his outstanding service in safety and in the community.

The TRALA award is based on exceptional safe driving and community service. David has logged more than one million miles over his 20-year truck driving career. During the past six years as a Logistics Driver, David has been a dedicated Landmark employee and top performer.

Olstad is WHA communications intern

Emma Olstad of Stoughton will serve as the 2018 Communications Intern for the Wisconsin Holstein Association. Olstad will be based out of the office in Baraboo, Wis. with internship duties starting May 21, 2018.

During the summer, Olstad will serve in a communications and public relations role. She will work with the Wisconsin Holstein News writing breeder profiles and will plan and coordinate the 2018 WHA Futurity in West Allis. In addition to these duties, she will assist in organizing district shows, the Wisconsin State Fair and the Wisconsin Championship Show.
