RIO - Let's Get Green and Growing, the annual conference sponsored by Columbia County Master Gardeners will be held March 24 at Rio High School, 411 Church Street, just off Highway 16.

Keynote speaker, Dave Wanninger of Boerner Botanical Gardens in Milwaukee will be speaking at 9:30 a.m. about Not Your Same Old, Same Old Garden Plants. Doors open at 8:45 a.m.

The event is $10 for pre-registrations, and lunch will available for purchase ($7) from the Rio FFA chapter. 

Pre-registration ends March 10. Walk-ins are welcomed, but the fee will be $15 and many sessions may be closed.

The event is open to all gardeners, who can choose from 27 topics in three breakout sessions, covering flowers, vegetables, diseases, pruning, composting, and much more. Some sessions will include a hands-on project for an additional fee.
