MADISON - The Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board (WMMB) helped drive sales and increase distribution for Wisconsin cheese and dairy companies at the Winter Fancy Food Show in San Francisco last week.

“Participating in this tradeshow is extremely important for the growth of Wisconsin dairy companies,” said Patrick Geoghegan, vice president of marketing and industry relations at WMMB. “A significant amount of product purchasing for national and international distributors happens at this show, making it an important event for the Wisconsin dairy industry.”

As a member of the Specialty Food Association, WMMB provided valuable resources for participating Wisconsin cheese and dairy companies, including a platform for product sampling, expert education seminars and most importantly, the opportunity to build relationships with the industry’s major food buyers.

WMMB staff engaged tradeshow attendees by introducing them to the cheese companies and sampling award-winning Wisconsin Cheeses from a variety of companies, including Marieke Gouda, Uplands Cheese and Roelli Cheese Haus.

WMMB’s regional marketing managers drove customers to the WMMB booth where twelve companies exhibited, as well as to other Wisconsin Cheese companies at the show by personally introducing customers to companies with independent booths. In addition to the networking and showcasing of products at the show, WMMB also connected participating cheese companies with media opportunities. By increasing awareness and conversation of Wisconsin dairy, this leads to an increase in demand and sales.

Wisconsin dairy companies at the WMMB booth included Anderson International, Carr Valley Cheese, Crave Brothers Farmstead Cheese, Nasonville Dairy, Pasture Pride Farmhouse Kitchens, Pine River Pre-Pack Inc, Red Barn Family Farms, Renard’s Cheese, Saxon Creamery, Shullsburg Creamery, V&V Supremo and Wisconsin Aging and Grading.
