Kinnard Farms scholarships open for Southern Door, Kewaunee County high school students

CASCO - Kinnard Farms is accepting applications for scholarships that will be awarded to three graduating high school students interested in pursuing a career in agriculture.

The  $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to graduating high school seniors in good standing from any of the following high schools: Kewaunee, Luxemburg-Casco, Algoma, Denmark or Southern Door, according to a Kinnard Farms news release.

Applicants must be interested in pursuing a career related to agriculture and demonstrate humanitarian qualities in school and the community, the release said.

To qualify for the Kinnard Farms scholarship, students must be accepted into a 2-year, 4-year or short course program, which starts in the fall. Applicants must be planning to pursue a focus in agriculture including dairy or animal science, horticulture, mechanics, agronomy, pre-veterinary, agricultural communications or a trade, the release said.

The recipients of the 2017 scholarships were Sarah Calaway of Denmark High School, Rachel Malcore of Southern Door High School, and Taylor Paye of Luxemburg-Casco High School.
