Freedom FFA Chapter developing tomorrow's leaders
FREEDOM - Members of the Freedom FFA Chapter have been busy making a difference in their local community and participating in leadership events. Freedom was among four Wisconsin FFA Chapters to be recognized as 3-Star National Chapters.
The chapter is advised by Kevin Champeau and Paul Larson.
FFA members from the Freedom FFA Chapter painted windows at the Theda Clark Regional Children’s Hospital.
This was the second year FFA members put fun characters on the hospital windows in the childrens’ waiting area.
The students drew and painted the windows to hopefully boost the spirit of the children as they wait at the hospital for treat of various injuries and illnesses.
District Leadership Development Event
Bella Minten and Grace Angotti of the Freedom FFA Chapter both competed in speaking contests at the District 23 Leadership Development Event.
Grace presented the FFA Creed to a panel of judges and answered questions while Bella presented her prepared speech on becoming a veterinarian to the panel of judges and then answered their questions.
Both did a great job preparing and presenting to the judges. This is a nerve racking contest for young people to be involved in and both worked through their nerves to present well.
The winners of the three District Contests advance the Sectional Leadership Development Event held in Freedom on March 13th.
Freedom FFA Hosts Sectional Leadership Workshop
Each fall the FFA members have the opportunity to attend the Section VIII Leadership workshop. The workshop is designed and conducted by the State FFA Officer team and held at 10 sites across Wisconsin. At the workshop, newly elected local FFA Officers learn about their positions and how to better accomplish their goals for the year. With Danielle Angotti serving as the Section 8 State FFA Vice President, Freedom was required to host the event for over 175 students from across northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan.
