FdL County Holstein Association holds annual meeting

FOND DU LAC - The Fond du Lac County Holstein Association held their annual meeting at the Holiday Inn on Jan. 15. Reports were given by the Fond du Lac County Junior Holstein Association and the Agromatic Holstein Futurity Committee as well as on the financial status of the organization.

Elections for the Fond du Lac County Holstein Association were also held. Joseta Halbur, of Eden, and Kurt Loehr, of Dotyville, were not eligible for re-election. They were replaced by Kelly Rickert, of Eldorado, and Brandy Westphal, of Byron. Other Fond du Lac County Holstein Board members are Sarah Loehr, of Dotyville; Lorna Bock, of Calumetville; Chris Kramer, of Armstrong; Steve Kamphuis, of Brandon, and Scott Felton, of Armstrong.

The 2017 Fond du Lac County Holstein Association Service Award was presented to Richard Julka. Julka serves as president of the Fond du Lac County Farm Bureau, is a past president of the Fond du Lac Area Agri-Business Council and currently is co-chair of the Agromatic Holstein Futurity, sponsored by the Fond du Lac County Holstein Association held during the Fond du Lac County Fair.

The Fond du Lac County Junior Holstein Association also presented their Service Award to Chris Pollock, of Ripon. Pollock​ built the "Scarlett the Cow” and allows the group to use it free of charge. Scarlett is a wooden cow that was built to give the general public an idea of how to milk a cow.

Over 50 Fond du Lac County Holstein members and guests were in attendance.
