Dodge Master Gardeners present Gardening for Gold

Dodge County Master Gardener Association will host four speakers in a day-long event at the Horicon Marsh Educational Center on Saturday, November 5.  Registration is required by Oct. 21 and seating is limited.

In the third annual Gardening for Gold Fall Symposium, local and regional speakers will be present to share their knowledge to gardeners of all levels of experience and skill.

Lindsey Bendery, a mycologist, will share the benefits and how to incorporate edible fungi into your landscape.  For the creative, Mel Kolstad an area artist and instructor, will demonstrate how to make paper from dried plants and grasses growing in your yards and gardens.

Liza Lightfoot, a landscape architect will be speaking about vernacular gardens, their history and the whimsical ideas born out of conflict and struggle.  To round out the day, Mike Maddox, Wisconsin Master Gardener program director will share what he has learned in incorporating hydrangeas into his personal landscape.

A lasagna lunch will be included in the events of the day as well as a Silent Auction featuring over 80 items of interests to gardeners and non-gardeners alike.
