Northern Saddle Club’s Trail Ride set for Sept. 24

Wisconsin State Farmer
This year's Northern Saddle Club trail ride will take place on Hall’s Creek Equestrian Trail System.

The Northern Saddle Club, Inc., a family-oriented riding group, will hold its Third annual Trail Ride and Pot Luck Sept. 24 at Hall's Creek trail head.

Attendees are invited to participate in a group ride at 10:30 a.m. followed by a pot luck supper at 4 p.m.

The vision of the Northern Saddle Club is to work with land owners and land management organizations to preserve and ensure safe riding areas for our present and future equestrian enthusiasts.

Trails were developed in cooperation with the Florence and Marinette County Forestry & Parks Departments. The club developed and maintains three different equestrian trail systems with over 100 miles of trails to ride. Located in Florence County off of County Highway C is Hall’s Creek and Bush Lake Flats. There is also a Connector Trail between these two trail heads. Trails are also located at Horse Shoe Falls near Pembine/Dunbar in Marinette County.

The trails and trailheads with camping areas are open to the public. Along with the trails with signage, the club has installed picnic tables, fire rings, bulletin boards, hitching post, and some trail heads have bathrooms and water. The club has received thousands of dollars and donations from the counties, the Wisconsin State Horse Council Trail Grant Program and the Great Lakes Arabian Horse Association.
