Select Sires and River Valley Farm announce change to 7JE5000 series of sires

Select Sires announced today the acquisition of the 7JE5000 series of sires, previously co-marketed in partnership with River Valley Farm. This change makes the popular 7JE5000 series of sires available on Select Sires’ semen delivery trucks along with elite Jersey sires from Select Sires and Jerseyland Sires.

“Over the past two years, we have worked with River Valley Farm to deliver their best genetics direct to customers through direct shipping,” explained Jeff Ziegler, Select Sires genomic program manager. “Now, through a newly reached agreement, we will be able to provide these same elite genetics direct to our customers on their Select Sires’ representatives truck.”

Genetics currently marketed from River Valley Farm’s genomic program will continue to be made available from Select Sires in a new, non-exclusive, working agreement. Online customers can continue to view the 7JE5000 series sires at However, beginning on August 9, semen will no longer be available to order online.

“The strong dedication of River Valley Farms toward breed development will still be captured in part by Select Sires,” comments Herby Lutz, Select Sires Jersey sire analyst. “We are proud to maintain the 7JE5000 series with sires that breeders have grown to appreciate, and look forward to continuing this elite product line into the future.”
