 Ellis hired as Operations Manager

Carol Ellis

The Wisconsin FFA Foundation welcomed Carol Ellis as its Operations Manager. In this role, Ellis will manage all operations of the Foundation office including accounting and data/information. In addition, she will assist with donor relations and administer award programs (scholarships and grant selections) for the Foundation, a statewide organization that builds partnerships with industry, education, government, foundations and individuals to secure resources to support the FFA mission.

Connie Walters

Walters joins animal nutrition team

Purina Animal Nutrition named Dr. Connie Walters, DVM, as its calf and heifer specialist serving western Wisconsin. Dairy farmers will be able to tap into Walters’ experience to help identify opportunities to take their heifer raising program to the next level.

In her new role, Walters works with dairy farmers to develop specific action plans for their heifer raising program.

Katie Esselburn

Esselburn on board at Land O’Lakes

Land O’Lakes Animal Milk Products welcomed Kathryn Esselburn as a calf technical sales specialist to support cooperatives and dealerships offering young animal products in the Great Lakes, Keystone, northeast and southeast regions.

Esselburn’s main duties include providing technical support to local farms in all areas of automatic calf feeder management. From programming, calf care and nutrition to sanitation and feeding protocols, employee training and more, she is here to help.

Craig Harthoon

H&S appoints new president

H&S Manufacturing Co., Inc. appointed Craig Harthoorn to the position of President, effective February 13, 2017. Chris Heikenen will remain active with H&S as the company’s Chairman and CEO.

Harthoorn will assume overall responsibility for company performance, strategic and business planning, and coordination of all operations.

AFIA Promotes Huddleston to Director

Gary Huddleston has been promoted at The American Feed Industry Association as its director of feed manufacturing and regulatory affairs. Huddleston previously served as the manager of feed manufacturing safety and environmental affairs. He joined AFIA in 2015.

Huddleston will continue directing AFIA's efforts surrounding the OHSA, the EPA and the DOT Transportation, as well as working to develop and coordinate AFIA's education and training programs.

Nathan Hrnicek

Rock River Lab hired Hrnicek

Rock River Laboratory has hired Nathan Hrnicek as a Technical Nutrient Advisor. In his new position, Hrnicek will consult with agronomists and nutritionists to build relationships, share insights and develop new opportunities for customer success.

Hrnicek’s new role with Rock River Laboratory will include consulting and speaking throughout the Midwest as well as in the regional areas surrounding Rock River Laboratory’s five domestic laboratories in California, New York, Ohio, and Wisconsin.

Eric Renner

Renner joins Select Sires Inc.

Eric Renner has joined Select Sires Inc. as a dairy analytics support specialist. His responsibilities will include administering the RePRO ReVIEW database and program, including data retrieval and analysis and reporting results to customers.

This position will work closely with Select Reproductive Solutions® (SRS®) specialists and Program for Genetic Advancement™ (PGA™) coordinators to improve the reproductive performance of herds across the country. Renner will be based in the Plain City, OH office.

Holstein Association USA hires Papageorge

Holstein Association USA welcomed a new Regional Sales Representative to their team. Lacey Papageorge works with dairy producers in Colorado, Idaho and Utah.

As a Regional Sales Representative, she will provide support for products and services to members and help to assist dairies in implementing new technologies on their farms.
