Bazooka Farmstar Appoints Wolter
Bazooka Farmstar has announced that Kevin Wolter has joined the company to further develop their sales and business portfolio. Wolter will serve as a Sales and Business Development Manager to maintain the company’s ongoing success and to aid expansion and advancement in a niche marketplace across the United States.
French joins UC as dairy nutritionist
United Cooperative announced that Elizabeth (Lizzy) French, Ph.D., will join the feed nutrition team as strategic account specialist. French previously was a dairy management advisor, automatic milking systems for DeLaval. At United Cooperative, French will work side-by-side with members of the dairy feed and nutrition team, working directly with producers providing meaningful answers for their operations.
Ihde awarded $2,500 scholarship
A Door County woman with a Culinary Arts degree and professional cheese-mongering
experience is the recipient of the 2017 Beginning Cheesemaker Scholarship from Wisconsin Cheese Originals. Natalee Ihde, of Fish Creek, will use the $2,500 award to begin the process of earning her Wisconsin Cheesemaker’s license.
Wisconsin is the only state to require cheesemakers to be licensed, an 18-month process that involves attendance at university short courses, 240 hours of apprenticeship under a licensed cheesemaker, and passing a written exam at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.
Ihde is currently taking cheesemaking short courses while working as a farm helper at Door County Creamery in Sister Bay. Her goal is to create artisan cheeses someday in her own farmstead creamery
NutriQuest welcomes Schuling
Sarah Schuling, Ph.D., has joined NutriQuest as Dairy R&D Nutritionist and will help with the development of NutriQuest dairy technologies. Schuling will focus on researching products and technologies to serve the U.S. and international dairy markets.
Prior to joining NutriQuest, Schuling most recently served as Dairy R&D Nutritionist for Hubbard Feeds.
