Say goodbye to Mickey Mouse.

The Disney Store at Jackson Premium Outlets is closing on or before Sept. 15, according to an online note to customers. "See ya real soon!" the notice states, referring customers to shop online at shopDisney.com.

Disney Store locations at Westfield Garden State Plaza in Paramus, Menlo Park Mall in Edison and Deptford Mall are closing too. It would leave the outlet store at Jersey Gardens in Elizabeth as the only Disney Store left in New Jersey, according to Disney's store locator.

The upcoming closures follows an announcement by Disney in March that the company plans to close at least 60 stores in North America this year. Earlier, it closed the Disney Store at Freehold Raceway Mall in Freehold Township. It also has closed stores at Willowbrook Mall in Wayne, Bergen Town Center and Bridgewater Commons, among other New Jersey locations.

Disney said it plans to focus on its e-commerce business and "significantly reduce" it brick-and-mortar stores. "While consumer behavior has shifted towards online shopping, the global pandemic has changed what consumers expect from a retailer," Stephanie Young, president of consumer products, games and publishing, said in a statement at the time.

"Over the past few years, we’ve been focused on meeting consumers where they are already spending their time, such as the expansion of Disney store shop-in-shops around the world," she said.

"We now plan to create a more flexible, interconnected ecommerce experience that gives consumers easy access to unique, high-quality products across all our franchises.”
