New restaurant on Chadbourne brings 'authentic' Mexican food to San Angelo
SAN ANGELO — A couple from Mexico is looking to bring the authentic taste of Mexico to San Angelo.
Tomaz and Erica Tellez, a couple who has lived in San Angelo for more than 20 years, opened El Rincon De San Miguel, 2605 N. Chadbourne Street, on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Waitress Chela Chacoen said they make their tortillas and salsa with fresh ingredients every day. They pride themselves on their tortas, which are sandwiches made with meat and cheese. Options they sell are asada (grilled steak), chicken, pastor (marinated pork), chorizo and barbacoa. They also sell tacos, platillos and burros. Prices for the tortas range from $6-$8.
They also sell micheladas — an alcoholic drink — but they ask customers to bring their own beer for it, as they don't have their liquor license yet.
El Rincon De San Miguel is open from 10 a.m.-9 p.m. and is closed Wednesdays and Sundays.
