Fitness 1440 to open in San Angelo in February
SAN ANGELO — Fitness 1440 has officially announced its opening date.
The new gym, located in Sunset Mall, 4001 Sunset Drive, is planning to open its doors on Feb. 13, 2019. It was supposed to open in mid-December, but owner Chris DeLeon said they had air conditioning trouble at the location.
The gym, open 24/7, will have strength, agility and flexibility training.
Classes offered include:
- Les Mills Bodypump — a total-body barbell workout
- Les Mills Bodyflow — uses yoga, Tai Chi and pilates to build flexibility and strength.
- Les Mills GRIT — 30-minute high-intensity interval training workout using barbells, weight plate and body weight exercises.
- RPM — indoor cycling workout.
Along with free weights, a cycling studio and a smoothie bar, the gym will also have a 15 square-foot area with artificial turf that will be used for a Navy Seal-style training program called TRX training. It's designed to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability.
DeLeon said they currently have a deal where new customers can pay $14.40 down for a membership that will cost $29.99 per month. Customers won't be charged until opening day.
They are also hiring certified trainers and instructors. To apply, send them a message on Facebook.
