Farm fun among Wisconsin Rapids' weekend events
WISCONSIN RAPIDS – Enjoy local food, celebrate on a farm, go back in time or enjoy art this weekend in the Wisconsin Rapids area.

Enjoy a meal
Enjoy dinner and music at a Fall Farm Dinner from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Great Expectations, 3551 Plover Road in Grand Rapids. Dinner includes appetizers, a cheese board, salad, soup, main meal and dessert, all made from ingredients grown and provided by more than 20 local farms. A $60 ticket includes tax and gratuity. Harps & Heels will perform live dinner music, as well.
Party on a farm
Vespertine Gardens will host a harvest party and 40th birthday party for one of the owners, Jill Tormoen at 3 p.m. Saturday at the gardens, 5470 Spruce Road in Vesper. Take a tour of the farm hosted by farmer Craig Tormoen, have your family pictures taken in the flower fields, meet some alpacas, enjoy a costume parade and more. Go back in time
Learn more about traditional harvest activities at the Harvest Fair from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Historic Point Basse, 300 Wakely Road in Nekoosa. Watch a blacksmith, carpenters and loggers work, learn how sauerkraut is made, make pressed apple cider and more at this seasonal and historic event. Tickets are $3 for adults and $2 for students.
