Seal 'vehemently denies' allegations of sexual misconduct from actress Tracey Birdsall
Last week, Seal encouraged women to share their own stories of sexual misconduct.
Seal is refuting charges of inappropriate sexual behavior lodged by actress Tracey Birdsall.
A rep for the Love's Divine singer, Luke Burland issued a statement to USA TODAY Tuesday saying: “Seal vehemently denies the recent accusations made against him by a former neighbor for alleged misconduct of more than a year ago. He intends to vigorously defend himself against these false allegations.”
Birdsall told TMZ in a report published early Tuesday morning that in the kitchen of Seal's Los Angeles home in 2016, the artist made an unwanted advance and tried to kiss her.
The Rogue Warrior: Robot Fighter star says after she rejected Seal, he insinuated that with her attire — shorts and a tank top — she was sending a message. She also claims he groped her breasts, which she says she told him to stop.
"To all of you who have been raped, to all of you who have been sexually abused, I applaud you for coming forward," Seal said in a video posted to Facebook on Jan. 11. "What you did takes real courage and please keep showing that courage and please keep coming forward because that's the only way that we get to solve this thing. We talk about it, we open dialogue, we solve it."
