Winners of Monsanto's America's Farmers Grow Communities will each receive checks for $2,500 during a special program during the 53rd Eau Claire Farm Show on March 8.
Students from counties across Wisconsin will receive their monetary award at noon, March 8, at the Menards Conference Center in Eau Claire. Students will then pledge their prize money to a non-profit entity of their choice.
Students being recognized include: Sarah Huber, Cumberland, Barron County; Patti Marten, Mondovi, Buffalo County; Larry Harms, Jim Falls, Chippewa; Jerrod Meissner, Chili, Clark County; Cindy Brown, Menononie, Dunn County; Susan Schley, Gilman, Taylor County; Cinthia Freise, Melrose, Jackson County; Terry Meyer, Spencer, Marathon County; Sandy Larson, Pepin, Pepin County; John Olson, Amery, Polk County; Marsha Shafer, Elmwood, Pierce County; .Michelle Traczyk, Weyerhaeuser, Rusk County; and Rebecca Vandyk. New Richmond, St. Croix County.
The 'America's Farmers Grow Communities' program was started in 2010. The Eau Claire Farm Show has hosted this event since 2014.
