Agricultural producers have many challenges to overcome in their quest for profitability in 2016. One way to eliminate some of the guesswork in the search for profit is to use marketing tools to pre-price some portion of the crop.
The Oconto and Marinette County UW-Extension will help producers better understand marketing opportunities and how to utilize those opportunities to their operations' advantage. The session will be held at the Lena Town Hall concentrating on marketing grain crops. It will be held on Wednesday, March 2 starting at 10 a.m., and will conclude at approximately 3 p.m.
The workshop registration fee is $15, which includes materials, lunch, and snacks. Pre-registration is requested to ensure that enough materials will be available for all participants.
The Lena Town Hall is located at 6087 Goatsville Road, at the intersection of Jagiello and Goatsville Roads, northwest of the Village of Lena.
UW-Extension Agriculture Agent Scott Reuss will be leading participants through discussion of the various tools and techniques which they may choose to utilize in their marketing efforts, as well as sample exercises and analyzing pricing opportunities for the upcoming crop harvest. A key component will be producer experiences of the difficulties and advantages of differing marketing practices.
To register or for additional information, contact the Marinette County UW-Extension office at 715-732-7510 or e-mail email@example.com The registration fee will be collected on-site the day of the workshop.
