'What's Your Farm's Future?' is the question that will be posed to attendees at a farm transition and estate planning workshop to be held on Tuesday, Feb. 23 at the Millhome Supper Club.

The workshop will open at 10 a.m. with a presentation by attorney George Twohig of Chilton titled 'Planning Your Farm Future.' The law office which he heads specializes in working with farmers on that topic.

Following the noon lunch, Manitowoc County Extension Service family living educator Teri Zuege-Halvorsen will suggest ways on 'How to get the Conversation Going' on farm transitions and estate planning. Then Extension Service farm tax law specialist Phil Harris will outline the tax implications for transitions on farm and other business entity ownership.

A farm transfer panel session will conclude the day. The presenters will be Sandie Fitzgerald and Julie Maurer of Soaring Eagle Dairy LLC in Manitowoc County and David Geiser and Deborah Reinhart of Gold Star Dairy Farms LLC in Calumet County.

Until Feb. 18, the registration fee is $25 per person ($35 afterward) with checks payable to UW Extension and sent to Calumet County UWEX, 206 Court St., Chilton, WI 53014. Reservations will also be accepted with a call to 920-849-1450.
