KOSSUTH - A driver was seriously injured when his semitrailer hauling manure collided with farm equipment on Manitowoc County T near Polifka Road.

At about 8 a.m. Feb. 1, the driver of the semi was attempting to pass the driver of a Loadall telescopic handler as they both headed south on Manitowoc County T, and hit the Loadall as the driver was making a left turn onto Polifka Road, according to a news release from the Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department.

The Loadall went into a ditch south of Polifka Road, and the semi overturned onto its driver's side, blocking both lanes of traffic.

The tanker spilled its load of liquid manure on County T, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The Reedsville man, 58, driving the semi was taken by helicopter to Baycare Aurora Medical Center in Green Bay with serious injuries.

The 60-year-old Cato man operating the Loadall reported injuries, but was not taken to the hospital.

The Sheriff's Department and Wisconsin State Patrol continue to investigate the accident.
