Fond du Lac — The Fond du Lac County Land and Water Conservation Department is offering a free workshop titled “Enhancing Your Agronomic Systems” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Feb. 7 at the UW-Fond du Lac Campus, Room 113/114, located at 440 University Drive.

Participants will learn how elements within the agricultural system are tied together, while refreshing current agronomic knowledge and adding innovative ideas that go beyond current farm business practices.

Guest speakers include: Francisco Arriaga, assistant professor, Department of Soil Science at UW-Madison, who will speak about “The Role of Soil Hydraulic Properties for Crop Production”;  Chad VanCamp, agent with Family Insurance Center, who will speak about “Introduction to Environmental Insurance”; Damon Reabe, president of Dairyland Aviation, Inc., who will speak on “Successes and Failures of Aerial Seeding Cover Crops”; and Greg Olson, Milwaukee River Field project director with Sand County Foundation, who will speak about “Gypsum Use for Phosphorous Loss Abatement from Agricultural Lands.”
