June 6, 2013 | 0 comments

The Annual Summer Meltdown, hosted by Accelerated Genetics, is set for Saturday, June 22, at Crave Brother's Farm and Farmstead Cheese Factory in Waterloo.

This year's event will begin at 10:00 a.m. with a tour of Crave Brother's Farm and Farmstead Cheese Factory. At noon a picnic lunch will be served on the farm followed by a short program.

During the day there will also be hands-on cheese-making activities and a dairy judging contest. Finally the day will rap up with Ice Cream treats.

The Summer Meltdown is a festival of agriculture and annually features farm and agricultural industry tours for the whole family.

The Accelerated Genetics Producer Education Program events are open to any dairy or beef producers - farm owners and herdspeople. The Summer Meltdown is designed for individuals, couples and the whole family.

Reservations are needed by June 17; go to: www.regonline.com/summermeltdown.
