The Wisconsin Department of Revenue (DOR) announces its first online auction of unclaimed property beginning mid-June. DOR is partnering with Wisconsin Surplus to auction collector coins, US proof coin sets, collector cards, fine jewelry and costume jewelry from unclaimed safe deposit boxes.
Beginning June 9 through June 23, those interested can bid on the items at wisconsinsurplus.com. Wisconsin Surplus is used by many state agencies and municipalities across Wisconsin for online auctions.
"Unclaimed property auctions allow for bidding on unclaimed property items and the proceeds are deposited into individual unclaimed property accounts," said Department of Revenue Secretary Richard Chandler. "We encourage people to visit the auction online or in-person to see the many fascinating and unique items for sale."
