Trees For Tomorrow to give away scholarship

July 9, 2014 | 0 comments

As part of its 70th anniversary festivities, Trees For Tomorrow is seeking program alumni interested in winning a $1,000 scholarship for a school or organization of the winner's choice.

Alumni include anyone who has attended any Trees For Tomorrow program including student, teacher and adult workshops; Road Scholar adventures; or any public programs or activities provided at Trees For Tomorrow, said Barbara Janesh, events coordinator for the natural resources specialty school.

"We reach more than 10,000 people each year with our programs," Janesh said. "While most are part of school groups, many others visit Trees For Tomorrow in the summer to listen to evening talks, participate in our family programs, or attend events like Forest Fest. All are eligible to win if they enter."

Interested alumni may register under the "alumni" heading on the TFT web site (TreesForTomorrow.com). Or register at Trees For Tomorrow during regular office hours or request a registration form by calling 715-479-6456.

The drawing will take place at the 4th Annual Forest Fest celebration on Saturday, Aug. 2.

The $1,000 scholarship must be used toward a minimum two-night stay with programming for 12 or more people. Eligible alumni must be 18 or older to enter.

Trees For Tomorrow is a private, nonprofit natural resources specialty school at 519 Sheridan St. East, in Eagle River.
