Four regional workshops set for depth to bedrock mapping

PIGEON FALLS

Four regional workshops on soil subsurface and depth to bedrock mapping are scheduled in Wisconsin within the next two weeks. There will be indoor classroom sessions starting at 9 a.m. and field demonstrations in the afternoon.

These workshops are designed for technical service providers, land and water conservation professionals, and engineers. The sponsors are the University of Wisconsin Discovery Farms program and the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey with financial support from the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board and the Natural Resources Conservation Service.

The dates and locations for the workshops are Tuesday, April 22 at the Calumet County courthouse in Chilton; Friday, April 25 at the Iowa County Health and Human Services building in Dodgeville; Tuesday, April 29 at the Badger Crossing Restaurant in Cashton; and Wednesday, April 30 at the Orchard Restaurant in Baldwin.

Pre-registration is requested. The fee is $40. A registration form is available on the www.uwdiscoveryfarms.org/Education/DepttoBedrockMapping.aspx website.
