Harvest Festival set for Aug. 25

Michael Fields Agricultural Institute will celebrate its Annual Harvest Festival from noon to 8 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25.

The day will offer a local Farmers Market with a variety of items and farm products, live "toe-tappin" music by Brew City Drifters and Adam Helwin, feature exhibit of Paul Thoresen's "Cows: A Closer Look" photo series.

There will be intern-led "Stella Garden" tours, hayride field tours, sweet corn and watermelon picking, sustainability demos and presentations of the work MFAI shares, children activities and games, and a grand finale Square Dance from 6-8 p.m. in the white barn featuring the Limber Timber Square Dancers of Elkhorn.

The event is free and will be held rain or shine.

Michael Fields Agricultural Institute, located at W2493 County Road ES (Main St. and Townline Rd.), East Troy, is a nonprofit organization that strives to help farmers and consumers work seamlessly together to create healthy, vital, agricultural communities.
