The 17th Annual Cover Crop Field Day will be held Nov. 1-2 at Cedar Meadow Farm in Lancaster County, Penn. Hours are 3:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 1, and 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2.
One of the largest cover crop farm-based research events in the country, the field day includes educational booths and exhibits on sustainable/eco-friendly cover crop practices. There will also be presentations on the advantages of cover crops by an international panel of experts including Steve Groff, Fredric Thomas, Ray Archuleta, Bill Curran, Charlie White and Ron Hoover.
Attendees can tour Cedar Meadow Farm's more than 100 field-scale test plots. The farm yielded 190 bushels of corn/acre without the use of nitrogen, as confirmed by Penn State University Agriculture Department.
