Columbia County Corn Growers meet at Didion Milling Aug. 14

The Columbia County Corn Growers will meet at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, at the Didion Milling Company, 501 S. Williams St., Cambria.

A tour of the milling facility and ethanol plant will begin at 9 a.m.

The program will then include remarks from Alan Paulson, Columbia County Corn Growers president; a UW-Extension update from George Koepp, Columbia County's UW-Extension ag agent; and a Farm Service Agency update from Susan Hunter, the Columbia County executive director.

Then growers will hear about the Wisconsin Corn Growers Association yield contest and "Marketing for 2012" from Garry Gard, Didion Milling.

Candii Sarbacker from Badgerland Financial will talk about crop insurance rules for this unusual growing season and Joel Stieber from Pioneer Hybrids will talk about expected yields and harvest dates for 2012.

A noon picnic lunch and door prizes will follow the presentation, compliments of the sponsors.
