Be a breakfast champion

Dec. 6, 2012 | 0 comments

Every New Year, millions of people resolve to start the year right by focusing on a healthier lifestyle.

This year, the Wisconsin Potato and Vegetable Growers Association (WPVGA) encourages everyone to start the year right by starting each day right - with healthy Wisconsin potatoes for breakfast.

Potatoes are low in calories, fat-free, gluten-free and are rich in fiber, potassium and calcium. They're a healthy breakfast option that fills you up and gives you the energy to put your best foot forward each day.

The WPVGA is looking for the Breakfast of Champions champion by holding a recipe contest. Submit favorite breakfast recipes featuring Wisconsin potatoes at www.eatwisconsinpotatoes.com by Ja. 4, 2013.

The Breakfast of Champions champion will receive a $400 gift card from Williams-Sonoma. Second and third place winners will earn $150 and $100 gift cards, respectively, to their favorite grocery store.

Be sure to rate the favorite Breakfast of Champions potato recipe at www.eatwisconsinpotatoes.com from January 5-25. Doing so will enter the browser's name into a drawing for the chance to win a $100 gift certificate from Williams-Sonoma.

Contest submissions will be shared on the Eat Wisconsin Potatoes Facebook page throughout the contest.

Deadline for recipe submission is Jan. 4, 2013. Winners will be announced Jan. 30, 2013.:///:///
