Barn fire kills 100-plus cattle

Dec. 29, 2011 | 0 comments

State police say more than 100 cattle have been killed in a barn fire at a northern New York dairy farm.

Troopers say Franklin County fire dispatchers got a report of a blaze shortly after 1 a.m. Monday (Dec. 26) at Alain Choiniere's farm in the town of Bangor, near the Canadian border 150 miles northwest of Albany.

The state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation unit in Malone and fire investigators are trying to determine what caused the blaze.
