ASA board of directors meet

The American Soybean Association (ASA) board of directors held its winter meeting Dec. 5-7.

ASA's Executive Committee and World Initiative for Soy in Human Health (WISHH) kicked off the week's events with their meetings on Dec. 3, followed by new board member orientation. On Tuesday, Dec. 4, ASA's SoyPAC and Finance committees each met.

After scheduled events with the United Soybean Board, ASA farmer-leaders participated in Monsanto Partnership Day on Thursday, followed by meetings of the Audit, Trade Policy & International Affairs, Membership & Corporate Relations and Public Affairs committees.

Retiring directors were honored with a dinner that evening. The full ASA board convened with elections for new ASA officers and committee reports Friday morning.

The Board also recognized ASA Executive Director for Member & Industry Relations Bill Schuermann, Meeting Planner/Executive Assistant Julie Hawkins, WISHH Executive Director Jim Hershey, Director of Operations Vickie Wilks and Program Manager for Africa and Central America Erica Morrow for their service to ASA and U.S. soybean farmers.
