"New" Showcase of Champions

to celebrate dairy youth

Aug. 18, 2011 | 0 comments

Sheboygan County's first-ever Showcase of Champions will recognize the hard-work and accomplishments of 4-H and FFA dairy youth exhibitors at the 2011 Sheboygan County Fair.

The Showcase of Champions is a new recognition program and first-time auction sponsored by the Sheboygan County 4-H Dairy Committee and will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, at 11:00 a.m. in the Sheboygan County Fairpark Coliseum, immediately following the selection of the Supreme Dairy Showman.

The Showcase of Champions is modeled after the Dairyland Youth Auction at the Wisconsin State Fair. It will feature six lots that represent 4-H and FFA youth dairy projects. The auction lots will consist of: the winners of the four dairy showmanship classes, the exhibitor of the supreme champion dairy female and a special item for the Dairy Youth Recognition Fund. A thank you basket filled with cheese and a print will be given to the winning bidder of each lot in appreciation of their support to the dairy youth.

The Dairy Youth Recognition Fund supports the educational development of Sheboygan County Dairy Youth in the areas of scholarships, agribusiness tours, speakers, exhibiting at the State Fair, dairy judging competitions and dairy quiz bowl contests.

Bidder registration and refreshments will be available prior to the sale. For more information, contact Heidi Ridge of the Showcase of Champions Planning Committee at 920-467-4241.
