Green Bay Catholic Diocese sets two Rural Life Day events

Feb. 11, 2014 | 0 comments

MACKVILLE/CRIVITZ

The Green Bay Catholic diocese will be holding its 2014 Rural Life Day observances at churches in Mackville (north of Appleton on Highway 47) and Crivitz on Wednesday and Thursday, Mar. 26 and 27.

Both events will start with a Mass at 10:30 a.m. The main celebrants will be the diocese's now retired auxiliary bishop Robert Morneau at St. Edward's parish in Mackville and bishop David Ricken at St. Mary's parish in Crivitz.

Attendees are invited to bring seeds and soil for a blessing during the event. Host parish members will also provide farm equipment and some animals for a blessing by the bishops.

Following the noon lunch, the guest speaker will be Mike Austin, who is a farm news broadcaster on radio and television stations in Green Bay.

Persons planning to attend are asked to call 920-733-9266 for the Mackville event or 71-854-2501 for the one at Crivitz to reserve a place for the meal. Tickets, $8 per person, are also available from representatives in some of the parishes in the diocese.
